I recently purchased this, put about 2-3 hours on it and it stopped filling the tank. I took the cover off and saw that the line that feeds from the pump into the tank blew off. It's a braided steel covered silicone tube. Most other brands including the Rigid have solid steel pipes instead. I actually liked this compressor and was sad it failed. I returned it and bought the Rigid instead.

Here's a photo of the line that popped off

Definitely a good deal with the accessories. I noticed that Lowes has a 6 gal "Kobalt" and HD has a 6 gal Ridgid for $99 as well. I'm not in the market for a pancake compressor, as I have one, but note that many are 2.5 gal - 3 gal in size. 6 gal is nice when you're using higher demand SCFM tools.

The above said, before you buy this, you might want to consider the Ridgid, for $99 on a BFD special, first [homedepot.com]. The Ridgid has a 3 yr warranty, and is only 80db loud (which is not very loud for a pancake compressor, esp if you're using indoors). The Goodyear is pretty powerful, though, as it has higher SCFM vs the Ridgid, and max PSI on this Goodyear is 175, while the Ridgid is only rated at 150 psi max. Both are great deals.

Bought this last time around. Compressor is loud, but has worked well for tire inflation, blowing out dust, and running the included brad nailer. Brad nailer doesn't feel the highest quality but has run flawlessly just the same.

Well, hard to say w/ out more specifics, but the Goodyear does seem to be fairly powerful (175 psi and 6 gal is no joke) for a pancake compressor, so if any pancake at $99 could do it, then it's probably this Goodyear in the OP. I, personally, like the Ridgid better, but there's no doubt the Goodyear is simply more powerful.

I returned the last Good Year air compressor from Walmart. California Air Tools is a much better buy.

Unfortunately, other than the pencil size irrigation lines used around flower beds and gardens, no, this isn't nearly large enough.

I have the Rigid and it has the lifetime service agreement. I had to buy it when my old compressor died during a project. It does not come with any accessories though.

I wonder why the Goodyear doesn't give a db rating for noise?

The rigid also does not Include a hose and this does. With the nail gun also included would you say that makes the Goodyear a better deal?

Nice. Was going to get the Rigid one because of their warranty. Since this came with the hose and the nailer, this one ended up being a better deal after adding the 3 year warranty for an additional $15. Thanks OP.

Well, my experience is when it's loud af, manufacturers often don't provide negative things such as high db ratings. Of course, when a product has a low-ish db rating, then manufacturers will often advertise it. Personally, I think some of the above comments from other SD members that have owned this compressor are enough to suggest the Goodyear is significantly louder than the Ridgid.
