Is this the same as the colored controllers in the other deal, except without the cable?

Also wanted to confirm, do these have any issues with pairing on windows? I've been reading that the Series X/S controllers don't connect well with Windows, basically only work with xbox.

thanks!

Normally the cabled version is 5 bucks more, but yeah this is the same, essentially.

And I use a half dozen of these with Windows weekly, no issues. You'll have a much better time if you get the $20 Xbox controller adapter thingy.

Thanks for the info. So the bluetooth connection is not reliable?
I was only able to find an official Microsoft "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10", is that the only version out there?

I suppose this is a good deal if you really need a USB-C cable, but who already doesn't have at least three of those by now?

I thought I was only one with problem. My Xbox series 1 keeps disconnecting for like 10s then reconnecting. This happens like randomly every 15 min or so. I just use it with usb c connection now.

BT connection has just a little more input lag than the adapter, and if you update the once you get it, it will work mostly ok. You cannot use a headset using the 3.5 mm input on the controller using BT, but you can with the adapter. Adapter is also more reliable when multiple connectors are used at once, for playing on the same screen with friends. BT is not that convenient in that scenario. But for a single controller, I wouldn't bother getting it. Also, if you want it now, the controller with the adapter is for $50 on Amazon: https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/770407 so it comes for $10, which I would recommend with the deal.

I think the series x controller is only meant for the actual xbox console -- if you look on the Target page for it, it shows only support for the console (harder to find that in the Amazon pages). Core is can be used with a windows pc or the xbox.

I have 5-6 controllers and not until recently did I have one proper cable. I never liked the idea of paying an extra $20.00 for a controller to get the recharge cable so I did without it for a long time.

An Xbox Core Controller is basically the new standard for Xbox Controllers. It's the first and original design of the Xbox Series X controller and is called the "Core Controller" because they have an Elite version available as well. The main difference between this controller and the older Xbox One controller is that the size of the core is smaller, it has an improved d-pad, and now also features a share button. You can also use this on either console so fret not about it working on your Xbox One or Xbox Series console.

Personally, I like the size of the older Xbox One controller, but the difference is so small most people won't even notice it. The cable is also a good bonus if you don't have one already because it snaps into the controller (battery pack not included) for a secure fit, making it easier to recharge while you play. I have an older kindle charging cable I use for my second controller whenever I need it and the slightest movement causes it to desynchronize.

Noob question: Do I need any adapter/receiver to play games on windows PC or does it work straight out of the box?
