Difference in quality between an LP60 and an LP3 is going to be minimal to nonexistent to a newbie. And, for god's sake, don't listen to the scores of people who will no doubt tell you "Oh, just go buy one at a thriftstore." If it's your first table, buy something from a reputable dealer and get something you can return if you need to.

Anyway...The LP3 is a better turntable in basically every way, but that's really because it's upgradeable. It's got a replaceable headshell and cartridge and an adjustable counterweight so you can change those out. With the LP60s, you're married to the cartridge it comes with, and will only be able to use the needles designed to fit that. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing for somebody new. The AT3600L that the LP60s come with is a perfectly fine needle, it's easy to change out, and you can find replacements basically anywhere.

Yes, if you want to listen to the LP60 or the LP3 via headphones you will need an amplifier of some sort, either a speaker amp with a headphone jack or a smaller headphone amp. If you go for the bluetooth turntable, you can pair bluetooth headphones directly. If you want to use headphones, just search Amazon for a headphone amplifier and find something with an Analog input.

Any of these three turntables are perfectly fine for a beginner. If you're planning on getting in and staying in for a while, I would go with the LP3, just because it's a nicer table, but if you only want to dip your toe in, either of the LP60s is a great starter table.
Damn, waiting on the LP120x. Ty OP.
LP3 is a much nicer version of the LP60X and since you can balance the tonearm it should eliminate the few minor issues the LP60X has with skipping on an occasional record. Good price for a decent automatic turntable.

Is this a discount? I had saved the 60xBT to my Amazon wish list and when I pull it up on Amazon right now it's the same price. Did Amazon match or is this just normal pricing?

I have never had any turntables in my life, but have a small collection of vinyls and want to get myself a decent unit with good sound quality and not crazy expensive. Most likely will be listening to music with a wired headphones most of the time. The Bluetooth option will be great as well. As I understand I'll need to get an amp to connect headphones? Is LP3 way better option in terms of sound quality than LP60XBT ? I will appreciate any suggestions from any of you who don't mind so spend a few minutes to give advice on turntables and amps. Thank you in advance

Search Facebook marketplace or Craigslist in your local area for an old used Technics. Better in every way than any sub $400 turntable. Many audio geeks refurbish and resell nice older turntables. Get a good Ortofon Red cartridge.

Thanks for your reply, so you are saying none of these are good enough?

They actually probably are "good enough". You probably won't be able to really hear the difference between these and a used Technics. Speakers, room acoustics and even hearing damage come into play! I'd just prefer the nostalgia and quality of an older, solid Technics turntable that you can keep nearly forever and pass down to your kids.

All of these are good enough. Vintage turntables have their charm if you are willing to go through the effort and cost of finding one and restoring it. Old Technics used to be dirt cheap but now most people know their value and want decent money for them. These Audio Technica turntables are very reliable and have very good sounding cartridges. The LP60X has the 3600L which is about a $30 stylus but it sounds very good for entry level gear. The LP3 has a 91R which is a slight upgrade at about $40. Either will be perfectly fine. If you are just getting into vinyl and don't know if it will be a big investment for you, I can't recommend an Audio Technica enough. They are reliable and sound as good as most people need. I don't have revealing enough speakers where I would even hear the different with a $100+ stylus and I bet that is true of many people just casually listening.

No matter what turntable you get- do get a speed strobe mat / disc or download RPM software on your phone. And do test it before add it into your system. If the speed is not right- your music won't be right,,,,
