Can OP or anyone confirm the ram compatibility of this mobo? Is it DD4 like the description from MC's specs or does this require DDR5? TIA.

Good deal finally on a 12th Gen i7 combo!
Debate whether to finally upgrade my AM4 setup (3700x). Pretty large jump, but do I really need it?

I had a 3700x in my first build. I finally upgraded to a 5800x, slight performance increase in gaming.

Here's a video comparing the 3700x and the 12700K in a variety of games [youtube.com].
There are several more videos out there comparing the two. I'd let those decide for you.

For 'New Customers' it should be possible to also use the $25 coupon for any processor:

I don't actually game much though. Honestly, the 3700x is plenty fast for what I do, especially since I started using Nvidia's NVENC on my RTX-2070 to do my Handbrake work. This upgrade would really just to stay modern...I tend to feel left behind when my hardware is a few gens old even if I don't need the upgrade. It usually helps to not have obsolete old parts because I can offset the upgrade by selling the not-so-old stuff.
