Better deal, hear me out. What if you can buy a used one and then sell it back for 750?. Extra sleep for free!

Have one and it has saved my wife and I. This is a very good deal but you can find them in excellent condition on FBM for like $700-750, so after tax we're talking about a $300-350 discount over new for something you'll only use a few months. That may be worth the savings for a lot of people.

I don't really get this - most babies wake up to feed during the night, especially early on. Only babies that can get really long stretches early on are ones that are formula fed or if you have an incredibly good supply. We were living feed to feed - definitely no extra to help with that good sleep

I just looked these up on FBM and they're all going around 900..so this seems like a good deal. Whatever it is.

We rented one for about 5 months and the total came to less than this. Just rent it, the baby will outgrow it in 6 months
That completely ignores resale, though.

Aluminum foil is cheap. Just put a layer down under the mat and emf will be gone if you're really worried.

We've had this through 2 kids of our own and one of a friend's (we loaned it to them). Worked great for extra sleep in all 3 of them. Now starting on kid 4 and he's doing great with it consistently gets 4-6 hour stretches of sleep in it at 6 weeks and younger.
Just curious if any of the kids from post-snoo, did your kids need similar movements to be put to sleep? Just thinking how one might have to wean the babies off of this. Snoo was great for my kid and a friend's kid but after the snoo, both of our kids were not easy to put down for naps. Just curious if this might be correlated or not.

Except why do you suspect demand will remain low? As people learn about them and hear testimonials, the demand will rise.
I didn't say that. However, the thing has been out for 5 years. Happiest Baby is doing $100M in revenue a year, that's 50-100K units a year if the Snoo makes up most of that, so 250-500K units might be on the market. Live births per year in the US is 3.5M, most of those households are priced out at even a $500 unit. Wherever you think all this demand is at a lower price point, it's not inconceivable that the demand at $1000 is at least close to being met in the forseeable future.

Might be why a 40% discount is finally offered this year - the price seems to have peaked.

we did the ferber method for a week after the snoo and it was amazing. i would put my daughter in her crib around nap time and she would fall asleep on her own.

Nope. I have 4 kids and all are great sleepers, only one used the snoo. No difference in habits here.

I bought this 40% off in 2018 ($790 then), kid slept in it a full year, resold in 2019 for $650. 100% worth it. I've had 4 kids. I didn't buy any fancy crap for any of them, except this, and it was magical. If you don't think it's magical, it's because you didn't use one. Or because you don't have the discretionary income for a $1000 crib - which is totally fine, but let's not pretend this is not a fantastic piece of equipment when you're a mom who's got to nurse her kid at 2:30am and get them back to sleep IMMEDIATELY. also, 8 hours of sleep by 5 weeks old.

This thing works. Bought a used one for around $600. Sold it for $500 a year later. It was totally worth it.

This didn't work for our kid at all. It would start soothing too late and I think just piss him off further making him harder to manually soothe. Didn't lead to any further time than the "dumb" manual basinet

Thanks for this, been monitoring FBM and Craigslist for a while, and prices don't seem to budge from 900 to 1000 in my area. Since they allow you to defer shipment, I figure I can always cancel if I come across a better deal.

No, one kid is very strong willed and refused to nap after he turned 2, but there was a good year and a half between snoo and that. He was a good napper before that. The 2nd kid of mine isn't yet 2 but is by far our best/easiest napper and nighttime bed sleeper.

For those purchasing remember to check your Citi merchant offers. Mine shows 6% which is a nice extra chunk back off this total.
