Because it takes a certain generation back to a place in time where there was no internet gaming nerds, high school was in person house parties were raging with beer guzzling, girl bangin, buddy fighting fun. Weekends were don't come home until it's over. If you don't get the feeling than you missed it my man
No offense bro, but nobody cares what you think. There are plenty of super popular musicians that I could give a damn about. I personally strongly connected to the Beastie Boys. Keep scrolling rather than stopping to 💩
Had this CD back in the day. I like the album but I honestly think it's their worst album.
I was never a huge BB fan but this album contains arguably their biggest hit (Fight For Your Right) along with No Sleep and Brass Monkey. It was far more groundbreaking than their later stuff. There's no way I'd call it their worst.

And you think that because you were never a huge BB fan.
I'm a huge BB fan and their other stuff is way better. Their biggest fans will agree. They really grew once they started making their own beats and instrumentals.

The most overrated music group of all time, they were meh when they first came out and meh today. I for the life of me can't understand why anyone liked their music. The guys seemed nice, nothing against them but their music was just meh.
I for the life of me cant understand why you dont like their music, so theres that. LOL
That being said , does anyone buy CDs anymore really?
Still have original cassette that I got as a kid, and a couple of cds. From the Beastie Boys Story, terrible they don't get any royalties from this album. Cool this is available new, but you can also watch for copies from thrift store for a dollar.

Because it was def jam. Rap fans like me appreciate the Def Jam sound. This and Ill Communication are my favorite BBoys albums.
I have a lot of appreciation for the group as a whole though

One of the most groundbreaking records ever made. They influenced what has become the most popular form of music in the world on a grand scale. It's still sampled today, and those who know still show respect.

Yeah I hear you. I said I liked it. It was the first album of theirs that I heard. Rick Rubin did a great job on the beats for the era.
Get it together is probably my favorite song of theirs.

Soon as you tell the estate of Jimi Hendrix to stop playing gentrified rock music 🙄
