Picked up a heavily discounted 1st gen magic keyboard for my 5th gen 12.9 ipad pro. I never would have purchased at @349 (full price). However, if something happened to it I'd probably pay the $349 to replace it. It's been that useful, regardless of the extra weight and thickness.

I also have an M1 MacBook air and it hardly get's any use. When I need a larger screen w/ full keyboard and mouse I goto one of my windows desktops w/ 32" monitor. But most of the time (for content consumption and occasional typing), it's the ipad pro 12.9 w/ magic keyboard.

Where did you buy your Magic keyboard? I'm on the lookout as well. Thanks.

Over a year ago from Amazon... Multiple retailers were discounting the 12.9" Gen1 MK to clear out inventory when the Gen2 MK was released. Apple made it sound like the original model was obsolete, but it fits and works with the Gen 5 iPad pro fine.

The 1st gen 12.9" Magic Keyboard fits the 5th gen 12.9" iPad Pro perfectly fine and everything works as intended.

The 5th gen 12.9" IPP is about 1/2 mm thicker than the 3rd & 4th Gen models. So Apple released a 12.9" Gen 2 MK that is about ~1/2 mm thicker in the clam shell opening, but it's *NOT* required.

Apple even states the combo is compatible here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/H...%20display.

I've also heard the new 6th gen IPP 12.9 is the same size as the 5th gen and supposedly the gen 2 Mk works with 6th gen IPP...so the 1st gen MK probably works as well, but YMMV.

This is the best deal I have seen so far! I love the fact that I can watch soccer in Spanish, but I am not able to do that on cable. The quality of the videos and the service is amazing. This deal is a no-brainer and I would recommend it to any soccer-loving friend.

I have a Magic Keyboard but trackpad doesn't work. Not sure how to fix but I barely use it, PM me an offer, everything works expect trackpad.
