Several options.

1. You can buy any cheap camera accessory from buydig and user that order number to submit a trade-in form. They will send you an email coupon for about $300 that is good towards a new purchase of sony mirrorless camera.

2. You can submit trade-in form for your existing camera equipment (camera or lens or accessories), they will respond with their offer plus an email coupon for about $300 that is good towards a new purchase of sony mirrorless camera.

3. You can buy sony mirrorless camera at full price, then submit trade-in form with either of above option. They will refund the trade-in value plus the bonus of about $300 on the purchase you already made.

Once you submit the trade-in form and they provide their offer, there is a process to ship your equipment, evaluate the condition you initially mentioned in the form etc to confirm the final offer price.

BHphoto edu, A7C $1418, A73 $1498, A74 $2248, seems almost the same if paying by their credit card.

Would it be a better price here since dell 120 credit in Amex and 12% rebate from urlhasbeenblocked
Not really. buydig/ bh/ adorama will apply the Sony trade in bonus.

I'd also like to know if there was a way to get the $300 trade in bonus for the 7c through Dell.

I have a couple AMEX cards with the $120 off $599 offer and Dell allows you to split payments.

This is probably going to sound stupid, but here goes:

I just used my OG Canon Rebel (2007) today to shoot some wedding anniversary pics. Came out really good.. I know this camera like I know my own hand. Will going with one if these Sonys really elevate my game, that much? Have optics gotten *that* much better?
There are lenses with better optics now (but top tier lenses are expensive), the cameras are higher resolution, the shooting fps is higher, much higher ISOs are usable, the cameras have IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization), improved dynamic range, etc. However, the biggest improvement I think is eye tracking AF and AF coverage of almost the entire frame in something like the a7IV. The AF in your Rebel and other cameras from the vintage is extremely rudimentary by comparison. This means you have a much higher percentage of shots where the AF is spot on. This is critical when shooting lenses with very shallow depth of field.

Whether all these things will up your game or not is hard to quantify as we don't know your shooting style, what you're mostly shooting, or what you're doing with the pictures.

I get the 7III instead of 7C just because the 7III has 2 separate dials for Aperture and Shutter Speed like a regular camera. Can't bear using a single dial for both
Quote from MozartA :
I agreed from technical point of view, A7c seems to be on average better than A7iii, like A7c has addition of 5Ghz band, better Autofocus, etc. a7C has the new version of Sony's Al-trained subject recognition system while A7iii missing that.

The a7 III is pretty good but not quite as polished, by comparison. Eye-AF works very well but the AF system won't necessarily continue to track that same subject if they look away. Its subject tracking is also less dependable, and tries to follow the whole subject, not necessarily the part of the subject you've specified, making it less precise and less predictable than the a7C's system.

a7C and a7 III have very similar video spec but a7C don't have the recording time limit and combine with better AF, a7C video recording works just a bit better. The A7C can record indefinitely (until the card or battery dies), but the A7 III stops recording after 30 minutes. Another thing is the A7C's ability to save gyro sensor data in video files. And can use this gyro data to stabilize the video using the Sony Catalyst software, and the results are superior to those of in-body image stabilization.

A7c has variable-angle screen, make A7c a tiny camera that works well for travel and vlogging.

But A7iii has better viewfinder which some people may prefer he use of viewfinder in A7iii over A7c. A7iii has 2 cards slot so can record simultaneously in case one card fail. While A7c only has one card slot.

As for Size, some people may want smaller size of A7c but the reduction in size also change the ergonomics. Like location of button, dials are at different location, and also holding of the camera may not be as comfortable for someone with bigger hand. So size and ergonomics are really personal preference.
you forgot the biggest diff. mechanical shutter speed 8000 on a7ii vs 4000 on a7c. this one alone will be significant enough for a lot of serious photogs depending on what they mainly shoot.

One could say a bigger difference is that the a7c is missing half of the mechanical shutter entirely...

Not sure if its worth upgrading from A7R iii to the A7 IV. BHPhoto giving me trade-in value of $880 + I suppose some trade-in bonus. Will still need to put in a few hundred out of pocket, is the sensor noise performance and AF signification better ?

This may be off topic but are there any good deals on trade ins for the a7rii? Mine is in great condition. I want to upgrade to an a7IV or a7sIII.
You are much better off simply selling it to someone else. Should be an easy sale to get as much or more than what they would offer.

I'm on the board of a photography club and don't know anyone that needs above 1/4000 of a second.

Only arguments are usually around sync speed where some 1/8000 cameras to get a 1/250 or 320 sync speed..not that the 1 extra stop of light difference or the 1/2 duration difference actually matters to stop a subject.

Even a humming brid 1/4000 is going to freeze the action.

I placed an order with BuyDig and my order disappeared. I have an email confirmation but it returns an empty order online. I wonder if their systems flagged it since I bought the cheap lens for trade in and then a super expensive 7c right after.
