Seems like an okay deal. Add another 8GB sodimm for 25-30 on top like that gigabyte laptop deal.

Beware: this is the same deal that was available a couple weeks ago and everyone pointed out the problems with the 135w ac adapter (it needs the 170w). I purchased this and returned it a day later. It needs the new ac adapter, storage upgrade, m.2 standoff, and another 8gb of ram. So really you're spending at least another hundred to make it usable for the thing you purchase a gaming laptop for. ($90 + $50 + $8 + $30 = $178 ). At that point I decided I was better off just getting the Gigabyte A5 K1 if I was going to be spending that much money anyways. Might as well get a 3060 out of it. If you want to stick closer to the 599 price point, there's the Lenovo legion 5 from Walmart for 599 starting tomorrow that has a 3050ti and 512gb SSD. Then I'd just say put a $30 stick of ram in there to get dual channel and you're all set.

Yeah this one is a great deal for a budget laptop if you've already decided that 250 nits brightness and 45% NTSC screen is good enough for you at this price point (every gaming laptop on sale for under 600 pretty much has that spec for their panel, so don't fret) https://slickdeals.net/f/16200298-w-11-21-12pm-lenovo-legion-5-laptop-ryzen-5-5600h-rtx-3050-ti-8gb-ram-512gb-ssd-15-6-1080p-165hz-599-free-s-h

EDIT: Should mention that the deal linked is still kind of mislabled. The actual spec for the panel for that model is not a true IPS screen (which by itself is usually fine, you can have good TN panels and bad TN panels. Just happens to be the latter on this one though). It's not going to be the 100% sRGB coverage like the description says. It will be 120hz with freesync though. All of the other specs seem like they're correct as far as I can tell. Scroll down on the deal and read the comments before making your purchase.

Had the exact same experience. Tried Days Gone on it. It was bugged in and at 100% battery. After about 20-30 minutes ..battery was at 87%. And yes, it was still plugged in and charging. The 135watt ac cord can't keep up when it's used on high power draw games.

Ordered this last time and already had to return. The keyboard would just start typing on its own and open programs magically.

To add on to what others have said about the ac adapter.. Lenovo's responses in the Best Buy comments confirms the issue and their solution is to "lighten" your work/play load so that it charges the battery instead of providing an ac adapter that allows you to use the computer fully. I'll be passing on this one.

I ended up getting the Gigabyte G5 MD that was recommended on here solely because of the expandability, but is this or the Legion a better pick? I dunno if either Lenovo has the same capacity of expandability that the G5 MD has (the 2 m.2 and 1 2.5" ssd slot)

Just for those curious, this chipset actually takes 32gb ram max (bought a 2 channel, 2 rate kit). The build quality is nice on the IdeaPad gaming 3.

So I bought the IdeaPad gaming 3 for $550+tax a while back when that was front page and have been on the lookout ever since for a better laptop (knowing best buy is extending their return thru Jan of 2023).

While I will mostly use it for 3D modeling/cad and it's more than capable, this current one has 256gb more space, as well as the proper power supply AND it's a little better built. So for $50 more (which the proper power supply alone costs more and good luck trying to find a 512gb 2242 format SSD to replace stock size SSD) it's a no-brainer.

I'll just swap out the 32gb ram kit I previously bought and stick in here lol. The build quality is nice on the IdeaPad gaming 3 so I'm expecting this one to be even that much better.

Yeah I mean you really never know. Companies have well built ones, they have poorly built ones. It's like with cars, everyone and their mother has a story about X car brand being a POS and breaking down, so getting an actual idea of the brand as a whole is really difficult. Go read/watch some in-depth reviews where they don't mind pointing out the flaws (not just sponsored fluff where they gloss over everything). I recommend going and seeing if Notebookcheck.com has done a review of this specific chassis even if it isn't the exact same configuration.

Hey sorry did you get 100% refund back? Or is there any additional fees for returning?
Thanks!
