I mean, if you need a laptop now why would you wait? There's always going to be next years model.

Also, if you're looking at a 3070 Ti I'm not sure battery life is really your top concern.

Nvidia not concerned about power efficiency... there is no practical gpu to use on battery... watts on laptops up 100% in 5 years, battery capacity.. NOTHING

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but looking at Jerrod's vid and Dave2D, the 40xx line seems to be a much bigger jump in performance/power this time due to 4nm. If you don't need it, probably worth waiting if you can. I plan to now.
