Now is a good time to remind folks about the Gmail "new email" hack. Add +something to your existing email and use it to signup as a NEW account for services. For example, use [email protected] to sign up for new hulu account and your emails will still send to your original account [email protected].
In previous years, your cost would end up being full price with no discount.
They started this promo at .99. Then a few years later they changed it to 1.99. it was 99 cents last year and now back to 1.99.

Bummer because if you have a discover card and only have a .99 cents charge they waive it every month. No more free hulu 😞

Can you explain this? I use discover and never knew about this.
If you have a $1.99 before your new statement is generated, they forgive the balance and cover the $1.99 so you don't have to pay for it. So as long as you don't have balance above 1.99 they cover it.

Lol hulu's ads not so bad, its better than cabletv or ota ads. Paramount+ gets way too loud during ads and thats annoying.

12 monkeys 2nd season got boring for me.

I would say any fx show was pretty good like What we do in the shadows, Atlanta or Dave, and they got most cartoon network shows on there that I missed out on the last 10 years
You found the second season boring? I find the show really took off in the second. At least you gave it a shoot!

Hulu ads are sometimes REALLY loud, seems to be based on the show one is watching. It's very odd. I don't find the commercials annoying. Peacock is the worst. I paid the $20 for the year to watch Jurassic World 3 and Psych. They keep showing the exact same commercials every break, it's the Lopez vs Lopez ad. It's horribly unfunny.

The Ad experience on Hulu is terrible. First, their targeting for Ads is awful, I'm constantly bombarded by ads for prescription medications for diseases I don't have (now I know how to make HIV undetectable!). Lots of ads for online dating sites (awkward watching with spouse!). And then, they just constantly repeat, same ad through the show, if you fast forward/go backwards, you're forced to watch the ad again. Finally, the total volume of ads has gotten worse than anything I've experienced on broadcast or cable TV.

If this was their diabolical plan to get me upgrade to ad-free, it's worked! I do enjoy Hulu content, I've been paying for the ad-free plan and binging and cancelling once I run out. I would never sign up for a yearly plan with ads again.

I am using my amex platinum benefit to pay for this and xm radio. My bundle price for this is $13.99. Is there any way to do this deal, considering I want to keep using the same credit card?
I'm thinking about signing up with a different card once the deal goes thru switch to platinum I'd probably wait a month to do it

Discover's small balance credit is actually 1.99 so this can still be free!
But they charge tax so it's over $1.99 at least for me (in Ohio), I pay $1.06 for the $.99 deal currently.

I believe this Amex offer has expired. However for those who had already claimed it (and it is good for a year), they lowered the threshold to $12.99. Further, the language changed to imply you don't need to have the Disney bundle. Any Hulu/Disney/ESPN charge of $12.99 or more would trigger. I'm thinking of dropping DIsney bundle and just doing ad-free Hulu, but I'm reluctant to because I can no longer see the T&Cs of the offer.
I get the $7 credit with simply Hulu-Add-Free ($14.99) and Disney+ ($2.99) = $17.98 on my AMEX

I HATE Sports tax so no way am I going to buy the bundle.

Doesn't even make sense since it says it is eligible for returning customers

Yep - I clear cookies and start a fresh session, as soon as I type a new email address and it goes to the billing section it gives me an error now. Even tried on a different laptop completely.

cant get my account that was canceled a year ago to work on this one Frown

I'm seeing the same thing. Even in a different browser with different account

(Error: "We could not complete your request right now. Please try again later.")
What worked for me was...
(1) Logging into Hulu with the email I want to use. Example: 123@gmail. (In my case, I hadn't used this email for more than 2 years, but it gave me an error.)
(2) Changing the email in the Hulu account to something else. Example: [email protected]
(3) Signing out of everything.
(4) Going back to the deal link and using 123@gmail.
(5) Do not pay with Paypal (at 123@gmail). I tried that at first, but it bumped the price back up. Restarting and paying with a normal credit card worked.

Yeah, I really don't understand why Disney only offers a package deal with the Hulu Ad option, would love a discount bundle of Disney+ and Hulu no Ads (don't give a hoot about espn).

This is what actually drives me nuts most. I think I would be ok with it if it was consistent. But you will have one show that maybe has 3 commercials, 2 in the beginning, one in the middle, and then you will have a show that seems to have commercials every 5 minutes.
The show that has most commercials are the most watched show by you. So if you watch same show everyday, you will start with less ads and short periods but later on you will start seeing more ads added to the same show and each of them will be longer than before.

Paypal worked for me. Must be because I used my Discover card 12 months ago. This account hasnt been used since then. I then changed to Discover after subscribing.

I can't stand their ads. I value my time and sanity too much. Not as bad or repetitive as Paramount with ads was. I just buy a month of ad free a few times a year and catch up on whatever it is.
Not sure why that got three thumbs down! This seems like a good strategy! The ads are horrible, except ESPN ads, which for the most part are entertaining.

It also drives me crazy to have to go back to one episode a week as we did before streaming. I binge watched all 4 seasons of Yellowstone in a week. Now I'm bummed at having only one episode a week.

For me, I created a new Hulu account with a new email address, the credit card from year before last & it worked. I added the disney+ bundle & its $5.64 a month for the next year.

Remember to go into your account & activate the disney+. It takes you to disney to set it up.

Been waiting for this, thanks OP!

Do they include 4K content in the ad plan ? I have had Hulu for a year now and I swear most of the movies they streamed were in HD quality. I have 800Mbps connection and a 4K tv. Anyone knows anything about it ?

Ahh ya true but its hit or miss for me mostly the damm pharmaceutical ones lol and I don't touch it or any ad supported sites during election season.

For 12Monkeys I think it was actually the end of s1 that got boring and was I turned off for s2 only got a few eps in. I wanted to like the show and liked parts of it but felt like it was dragging. It's definitely a once a week tv show and not a bingeable show. Also watching during the pandemic may not have been the best idea ( ;

Has anyone tried using gift card for initial payment? Previous years required the first month with a permanent card. Also, Hulu gift card covers the Disney upgrade cost?
