I thought it was DC too, but it does indeed say AC motor on the product page in the specs.

Quick question for anyone that knows - Costco's 6 quart mixer has 590 watts vs this has 500. Does that mean this motor is worse than that motor?

Almost pulled the trigger when it was posted last time. Thankfully, read the comments and webpages all over about it. Only good thing is the stainless acessories.

I'd stick with a refurb 8qt commercial model also comes with the stainless acessories and the DC motor. I bought one a few years ago and its great compared to my old 600 pro. It had like 1 quarter inch scratch in it, otherwise looks practically new.

I've also had no issues interchanging any of the bowls or accessories between the 600 pro 6qt and the commerical.

Is anyone able to comment on the amount of time from sign up to when they received the 15% off discount code?

Not DC, also this model is very loud. Wear hearing protection while using it.

Where'd you find that 8qt refurb? Fr Kitchen Aid directly?

Kitchenaid mixer just get louder and louder, I also got a 6000 HD which is the same DC motor as their top Pro Line model, loud as hell, but not as loud as their AC motor models which sound like a jet engine. Thankfully, brushless DC mixers are now finally hitting the market, found 2 models on Amazon, listening to the video reviews those are way way quieter and I'm planning to buy one.

Any thoughts on the "power" between the two (I know the new one is only 500 watts compared to 575 on the 6000). Wondering how the new one handles tougher tasks like kneading dough compared to the 6000. Thanks!

Not sure if it's still working, but when this deal was posted last week if you left the mixer in your cart for a while after adding the 15% coupon, they would sometimes offer you 20% on a pop-up when returning to your cart.

Is that really a fair comment to say the only thing good is the stainless accessories? From what I read it has an entirely redesigned AC motor compared to their other mixers, which MAY be more efficient or durable. Haven't seen any confirmation of this or comments on actual operation compared to the others.

I've got a Costco model 6000hd that is brushless, I'm wondering the same. It has the dc motor rated at 350w, this one is the AC rated at 500w. My wife doesn't like the 6000hd cause of the tulip bowl it came with, so I'm hoping this new KSM70 is a worthwhile upgrade despite going from dc to ac.
