Pros:
- The clean matte finish looks great
- You can make the powered speaker either the left or right channel
- The headphone out seems like a great feature for a PC setup (although I've not tested it yet)
- Basic bass and treble EQ on the remote
- The ribbon tweeter offers nice detail in the highs
Cons:
- The remote is huge and clunky
- They are a little bass heavy (easily fixed with EQ on the remote though)
- Mids can get a little lost behind the bass and treble
- Haven't been able to get my Chromecast or LG remote to control the speakers properly
The TUK brings one of the best feature sets I've come across in a pair of powered speakers. And it's got a great minimalist design to boot. Features and aesthetics aside though I think the Airpulse A100 beats it out in sound quality (although at current inflated prices that's not a totally fair comparison anymore). When it comes to bass I think the Vanatoo Transparent One is still the best I've heard in this price range (although this is less of an issue if you're using a sub). And the only speakers I've found that work flawlessly with almost any remote (Fire Stick, Chromecast, and LG Magic Remote) are the Klipsch (specifically The Sixes but should be true of their lineup).
Lastly, if anyone is okay with buying used the TUK can regularly be found for around $500 open box on Amazon.
