Sweet price. I will say I purchased the light blue corvette one for my son and had to exchange it 2x. Both cars were faulty. They randomly stopped going forward or would keep moving without using the controller. It sucks cause it's a really cool toy, very fast and fun and my kid loved it but I got tired of exchanging it

The controllers are pretty durable in my experience. They can glitch up if a stick isn't in neutral when it turns or or restarts. To reset, hold the center button to force it off, wiggle the sticks a bit, let the sticks rest in neutral, and turn back back.

Per the Roadster, the controller is smaller, the charger isn't built into the controller, and it seems a little faster (harder to control as well). The Roadster itself catches on my rug easier than previous models.

Can I please ask if you've experienced a lot of technical issues with the Roadster other than the controller issue you described (thanks BTW)? I'd love to get this as a present but worried I might be giving a dud?

These are hard to control and kinda too quick for the small size. They go bad quickly as well.

They're excellent toys, highly recommend as a gift!
(Especially at this price, this isn't much more than some regular hot wheels without RC)

No real issues, but the small wheels do catch on loose hair (if you don't keep your floors clean). I have yet to clean out the Roadster, but previous models were pretty easy to clean (just remove one screw and be careful not to rip motor wires).

I bought the Nissan for my son for Christmas last year. It's still going strong. We have a ton of track and he loves just driving it around it as fast as he can. Sounds like we've been lucky, but I'm taking the chance on this one too. It's really a lot of fun on track. Definitely hard to control just free roam.

Is there a chance the 1:64 scale model catches on fire like the full size Tesla?

Are you sure you got the corvette and not the Tesla? What you described seems more like what a tesla would normally do 🤷
Don't cut yourself with all that edge

"From 2012 – 2021, there has been approximately one Tesla vehicle fire for every 210 million miles traveled. By comparison, data from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and U.S. Department of Transportation shows that in the United States there is a vehicle fire for every 19 million miles traveled."

This is on Tesla's website and I confirmed the numbers with data from the National Fire Protection Association's website. Cars in general are 11 times more likely than a Tesla to catch fire.

The Roadster got stuck in reverse for a bit today. Basically you just have to unpair it and repair it. No issue other than that so far. These things are fast! And a lot of fun. My kids are going nuts with them.

Have you seen the prices of Camrys and Accords lately?

Or even the Mexican Ford Mach-E?

This is selective data picking to twist the truth.

I'm not a tesla fan person. my household of 5 owns a cheap cheap old sedan. So what I'm saying is not motivated by anything except logic.

First they tell you only Tesla branded car fires. Ok. Then they lump all other car brands together and the frequency of fires looks higher. What if there were 50 more car brands / models and they each had on an average same fire to miles ratio as tesla? Won't the aggregate of all those miles make the number of fires per miles go up?

It is like saying, my eldest kiddo bumps his head only once a day while there are 3 head bumps a day in my household daily. Well, duh, I have 3 kids and they are boisterous. It doesn't make my eldest any better at avoiding injuries than the younger ones.
