I bought this on 7/13 for $136. I am using it for my xbox one and it has performed very good for me. It does not come with a USB-A connection, and is according to the reviews, can be finicky with some adapters. I added the Crucial branded adapter : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FSDMVNP/

No one can guarantee your unit won't fail prematurely so I would worry more about the warranty the manufacturer offers and always back up.

Pretty slow drive. It starts fast due to cache, but slows down considerably for big transfers. This drive was $115 month ago, so expect the price to drop further as we approach BF/Cyber Monday.

For comparison sake, they have the x8 on sale for like. $18 more. Supposed to be a bit faster I think. I don't have time to really research into it atm, but seem good at quick glance.

I bought the 4tb version 2 or 3 Black Fridays back. Have probably subjected it to well over 200X complete wipes & subsequent fills. The most impressive drive of its size (capacity AND dimensions*) after factoring in the above + price. @ least, that's where I'm @ with it. Thanks OP, adding more to my collection now.

Don't buy this.

I made that mistake last year, and don't know what to do with the device.

The write speeds are atrocious. The read is fine, but there is a reason they don't list the write speeds in the product page.

It not only uses older SATA standard, but seems like has terrible write caching as well. It can literally drop to USB2 speeds (10-20mb/s) when the device is mostly full.

(Use this on my Xbox. It was fast when fully empty. Now updates are really slow).
