Yes. It's not the volume that causes ringing. It's the amount of air these push into the ear canal coupled with the tight Seal around your ears. it's a shame cuz they sound great otherwise

The ringing is similar to the tinnitus experienced after a very loud concert. Except the volume was at 20-40%. Many others on forums experience the exact same thing within minutes of listening. Don't get me wrong, female vocals on these sound amazing. Just couldn't get over the fact that I may be damaging my hearing

Thanks! Let's say you reduce the volume down to less than 20%, would it still be ringing?

I never suffered any ear ringing. These are in my top 3 fav headphones along with the AH-d7200 and the sennheiser 660s
Yeah I don't get the criticisms of this headphone, then again everyone hears differently. At $299 it's a steal I think. It's better overall than my DT177x, Senn 6xx, 58x, Dan Clark Aeon Open X, B&W P7 & various past Grados.
Overall the Elegia's are the best headphones of the lot, but the 177x better at detail & 6xx w/mid-rage presence & Aeon Open X mid-range that's a bit more subtle than the 6xx.
I use a TDX789 amp with SMSL SU-9 DAC & balanced cable which probably makes a difference.
Edit: I also EQ them using Equalizer APO w/Jaacko or Amir's presets.
I bought them at $399 and have no regrets. They sound great and are built very well. I use them with a thx789 at home and hidisz on the go. I have not experienced any ear ringing.
Ergonomically I don't much like the band or the weight, and they needed a bit of EQ to sound their best, but really fantastic when that's done. No ringing here.
I have several pair of headphones, many priced higher than this. These are my current favorite pair. Sorry to those who had issues, but I have had none. I say these are a steal at this price (I paid more), but headphones, like all audio equipment, are subjective to the user. At least at this price you can get your money back if you don't like them.
