There is no which one is better. 2 different mouses for different purposes. The Basilisk have a lot more buttons and weighs like 32g more with a tall ergo design. Viper is a lighter ambi mouse that u can use left or right handed. It all depends on your use case, grip style, weight preference...etc. If u have local Best Buy, u can try it there, they usually have them both on display.

I have both - the superlight is my favorite fps gaming mouse - it's much lighter, but enjoy the viper for daily driving and games not requiring a 'twitch' factor. The viper has gripped sides, whereas the superlight offers adhesive add-ons.

Superlight all the way...there's really no competition as far as wireless lightweight gaming mouse goes.

I own and use both. While it's mostly true that these mice aren't competing for the same audience, they do share enough features to be hard to choose from, EXCEPT for a huge glaring difference - IF you use RGB, the Viper lasts longer.

It's easy to see, the Basilisk has more RGB lights on it. Setting those to 100% brightness will only get you 8 hours of runtime. Razer claims 20 hours with RGB 100% and 100 hours with RGB off, but It has never held 20 hours. As an anecdotal point. The Basilisk was my first purchase and since I could NOT make it through an entire work day and gaming session, I often played through the low battery warning. This abuse only took 4-5 months before killing my battery. Sure, user error, but not being able to make it an entire day is unacceptable. Now I need a new battery as I only get 10 hours with RGB at 20%

All that said, for whichever mouse you decide, set the RGB light level to 20% - I promise it's still bright enough and greatly increases battery life. So if you have gone through features and still can't decide let RGB be your deciding factor. If you want to use RGB, get the Viper. If you don't care for it and willing to turn it off, the Basilisk will last longer.

I love this mouse, I have 2, one for work and one for gaming. My only caution is that if you buy it DO NOT lose the cord that comes with it! The connector is USB C, but the outlet is so narrow that only the Razer version can fit comfortably. You need this to update the firmware of the mouse, as it can't be done wirelessly.

the battery life is great, response is quick and clean, preset button for dpi changes is easy to use and doesn't get hit accidentally. It's a great mouse, highly recommend.

I really like my Viper Ultimate. Good weight, Synapse had gotten better (and you don't need it running). Just bought the $10 grip tape they have to try that out.
