If your house isn't huge you could save $25ish and get the 2-unit version (that's down to $52 at the moment):

For networking experts here: In the absence of USB ports at back of these mesh routers, What is the best way to connect a USB hard drive so that I can access it over the internet.

If you already have the router, then yes

If you already have a router that has a USB port for that, you could continue to use it but turn off its WiFi. Then I think you can make the Orbi system an access point for your wireless (with an Ethernet cable from your existing router to the main Orbi unit).

Hmm that's pretty slow. Going to have to pass on this deal.

I can say that I purchased an Orbi system, and they only give you customer support for 90 days before you have to purchase a $20 support plan. Additionally, the mesh router system I purchased was only supported for 3 years before it is no longer supported. The router system I have is spiking a 150-300ms network latency every 30 seconds or so. I would not buy Netgear again.

This is wrong. It's AC1200. I have a similar one by tplink that gets the full 400mbps of my broadband when plugged in and 250ish mbps when close to a satellite. Also, it's now $79 at Walmart and $69 with coupon WOWFRESH or DISCOVER. It's literally the cheapest name brand three satellite mesh right now.

As a fellow Nighthawk sufferer, I'd love to hear your story.

Thanks been looking for more satalites to add to my current setup. These are great but you do need to be somewhat techy to get them setup if you have an existing wifi/modem.
The speeds arent going to blow you away but they are consistent and reliable.

Anyone have tips for keeping these alive outside?
