Seriously, are we still doing check-by-mail rebates? You might consider Costco's 3.5 and 5.5 dutch oven set for $60 to avoid this. And only one rebate for household here.

Yes, companies are still doing it because ther is a large % of people who buy product and fail to send in the rebate. COmpanies are about profit, not giving away$$

I'm with you. It better be one heck of a rebate if I'm going to do that. Normally, as soon as I see mail-in-rebate, I skip the item. This cast iron's pictures do look like it's nice Dutch Oven though.

Doesn't look like it's on sale anymore. I grabbed the set for $50 and I absolutely love them and would happily pay the full retail price.

ahhh the good ol days of mailing in a rebate and expecting to nothing in return. I remember my father used to mail in all these rebates and most of the time it goes silence.

It should be the law that any REBATE post be listed in the title so I don't waste my time clicking it.

If you have a Lidl, their oval case iron is 19.99. It's smaller at 4.2 qt, but I use it along with my Le Creuset. If I know family is going to use a metal utensil in it (even if I provide a silicone one), then I use the Lidl one to serve 😀

Just baked 2 rounds of "no knead Dutch oven bread" in the Costco 5.5 yesterday. Never made bread before and did both an overnight rise and then a 2 hour quick version. Haven't tasted them yet (the temptation was real) as they are for guests today but they look amazing.

I have a Staub cast iron skillet pan that I love from FB marketplace and if these somehow breakdown eventually I will upgrade. But really hard to argue with 2 Dutch ovens for ~$50. My store ran out promptly and they haven't came back. Looking forward to a winter of soups and fresh bread.
