I still see it on most of the upper models of brands that make instant tents. Not the lower models though. It is still a thing. Not sure I would get another tent without it. You can replace whatever battery pack it comes with (usually a box that holds 4 C or D batteries) with a cheapo rechargeable battery pack too if you don't have rechargeable Cs or Ds around. It is really nice to have a light switch in the tent always in the same spot that lights the tent with a nice soft light. Looks nice at night from the outside too.

A few years ago the integrated led lights within frame was the in thing...which I thought was a great idea, but it seems all the latest models have backed away from this. Anyone know why...I'd presume there has been issues.

I actually bought this tent back in 2018 and it's a fantastic tent! Fits my 4-person family and all of our gear perfectly and with room to spare. We've also camped during strong thunderstorms and we have never had an issue with water getting in.

Only downside is that this thing is pretty bulky in the bag and takes up a good amount of space when packing it. Not all that surprising though given the size of it.

I camp a few times a year. Used to have a Coleman instant tent. Then I got a trailer and recently sold it for a profit. I'd rather pay full price for a instant tent instead of getting and using a free "regular" tent.

Trust me. It is worth far more than that if you are married/have a significant other that is going to help you set it up in the blazing sun/pouring rain/mildly uncomfortable whatever.
