Bose QC45, currently on sale at Costco for $219. Price valid till 11/23. If price drops further you can always get Costco to price adjust, though I doubt it'll go lower

I juuuust bought the Sony WH1000XM4 last night, like less than 12 hours ago, it's probably the better purchase overall even for $228 but it would have made my decision harder if I knew the Bose would have been cheaper
I bought the Bose to try out. The case is kind of chintzy. It's basically a cheap mousepad that zips up. It might be worth buying a case for $20, or buying the standard retail model for $249 at Amazon/BB/Etc.

Is the Costco version different (in terms of the case) than models you'll find at other retailers? I do see that Costco says "soft case" but the pics on Costco and Best Buy look identical to me. Interesting.

Just the case if I remember correctly from previous threads

The cases are different. The BB version is the standard "hard" case. The Costco case does not have any type of rigidity to it. It's fine for protecting against scratches, but it exposes the headphones to compressive forces.
