FYI, this does not take charge via USB c. Otherwise, a perfect laptop for the price.

That is a huge red flag.

Great price on this - the lowest it's been recently is on amazon at 899 and that's a clearance sale I think. New versions of the Vivobook release this month look to mostly replace this line, but with faster refresh (120hz) and a properly centered touchpad, which means I'm sitting this sale out. But it's a good price if you don't care, or want the touch screen feature (kind of useless I think, since it's not a convertible form-factor, and can't even lay flat).

Thanks for pointing this out. Was really considering this and another GPU deal from newegg using zip. The reviews have convinced me 100% not to bite on any zip deal.

4GB video memory? Eh! It's like a full-size truck with a small lackluster engine. My 2016 Dell gaming laptop has that much video memory and I can't run games at high settings. I can only muster low to low-medium set graphics.

1200P and I would have bitten.
Actually not that heavy for a 15" with touchscreen glass. Probably not great to travel with though

Is OLED not a problem with a static computer screen? I would think burn in would happen pretty quickly on these?

I don't think this laptop is being marketed as a gaming laptop thou. More like a productivity laptop with some light gaming ability. Like those older Zenbooks with Nvidia MX cards.

Yep, it's a touch screen oled laptop. The gaming is just a plus. If you are buying this for gaming you are wasting your money since there is so many better deals that has non oled touch screen but better gaming spec.

Just a note that the Acer Swift X that so many folks liked from last year had a 35w RTX 3050ti, as did the Asus ROG X13. This one has a more juice than those, which were both competent gaming laptops at 1080p.

Here is an excellent review of this exact laptop:

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asu...468.0.html

Basically, if you place a fast CPU, excellent OLED touch screen, and all-day battery power over everything else, this is the everyday laptop for you.

I've read (and yes, the review that was posted in the previous post) that the RAM is soldered.. all of it. Is that true? Is this not upgradable??

Only 2 USB ports on the whole machine (A&C) - none of which support power delivery. So if you forget your ac adapter, or just want to plug in a standard thumb drive while using a USB mouse you're out of luck. Puzzling how big of an oversight this is compared to its otherwise excellent specs. Am I missing something?
