Holdings are only worth about 300 Billion (with a B).
The Haanjo1 looks like a flat handlebar on a road bike frame, which means it would make you sit at more of an angle. However its probably lighter and imo 1x9 is better than 3x8. and you get wider tire 38 instead of the 35 on the Metric, you can easily get a dropbar down the road and convert it to a road bike, the frame looks good it has alot of mounting holes for bag-packing as well. Pick Metric if you want something thats probably better at hopping over curbs or light offroad use. but I think the Haanjo1 is better spec'ed for the $.

Sorry for lame question, but I'm looking for a decent bike for my boys ages 12 and 15, without breaking the bank. Would this be a good one? Thanks in advance!

Yes it would be fine, well as long as they're not trying to do some extreme off-road stuff. The haanjo would work too.

Haanjo 1 looks like a better bike for a slightly more $.
1x drivetrain should be plenty for most users and is easier to maintain and adjust, external cable routing might be a plus for some.
What about the Haanjo is specifically better? The specs are extremely similar, they both have an aluminum frame, and the same exact brakes. The only differences seem to be 8x1 instead of 8x3 gears, slightly wider tires, and slightly lower weight on the haanjo (24.9 vs 26.6lb).

I think it's more personal preference between the two rather than one being objectively better. The wider tires on the haanjo help with off road, but slimmer tires are faster and more efficient for road biking. I also like the look on the metric, the Haanjo looks more basic, the metric looks more solid like a tank, especially the battleship grey.

It comes partially assembled, mainly because it cant ship in a flat box fully assembled. I got mine yesterday and was able to put it together within an hour or so. It just took some getting familiar with but not too bad. The YouTube video helps, breaking down the 4 steps: https://youtu.be/DF1GgTfIc7c

The only tools you need that are not provided are a phillips head screwdriver and a bike pump.

Basically so they can call it "24 speed" for the people who always think bigger numbers = better.
Hmm i just keep the front derailleur on 2nd gear, so that its essentially an 8 speed bike, but its nice to have the extra options when necessary. I live in a hilly area so with a 24 speed I can jump from a high to low with one click rather than having to click multiple times to go from 8th gear to 1st.

I'm 5'10" and plan on using this bike for commuting and on paved roads and trails. What size should I get, M or L?

Why did they make this 3x? 😂
Agreed. I'm on the fence, but think I'll pass as I'd much prefer the same bike with a 1x9.

Hard to compare as that bike has a front suspension fork (shocks), while the others do not. Front suspension adds weight and some loss of pedaling efficiency. Another big difference is the brakes...that bike has hydraulic brakes while the others are mechanical (hydraulic is better). It all depends on your preference.

Do you have long arms? See ape index link below.

Unless the frame sizes are spaced far apart, those in-between sizes can probably ride either one, and the only real way to decide which is better is to try both and compare. They made it easy and turned it into a math question, so that correct answer to the math is Small. That's also what I've heard most people say for various reasons.
