If you are renewing a pass, you can call customer service and pay for the renewal with cards. I've been doing this for years. I usually combine the gift cards on the Disney website to make it easier for the cast member. As others have mentioned, Disney has paused annual pass sales (something we hope Iger will fix).

It seems they are no longer taking gift cards when renewing online or call in… can only renew using gift cards at their physical ticketing counter at Disneyland. That's what we had to do when renewing our Magic Keys… so lame
