Everybody is different in dimensions and preference. You have to go try them. Sorry it's not the answer you want, but it's the reality. You can go read a million reviews and then think it sucks or you might find one with worse reviews that works for you better. I've had both happen, so I won't make a recommendation other than to say, go visit the local dealer and spend 30 minutes in each chair, then pick.

I know the Gesture is widely loved, but I returned mine for an Embody. IMO, Gesture build quality does not feel like a $1K chair — and the arm rests do not lock. So, every time I sat in the chair, I had to readjust the arm rests. Drove me crazy. Definitely a YMMV type of thing, as most people may not notice or care.

It's very difficult to move the arms accidentally. No idea what you're on about.

I like the feel of the chair. The wheels are really fast. The lumbar support with these chairs are worth the money

I know these are awesome chairs. I have one myself, but I'm sure if you look around, you can find them used from an office or school for much, much less. I bought mine in 2019 for $150 from a company that's buys up full offices, and he had about 100 of them at that time.

How are you liking the Embody? Any complaints? I almost bought an Embody when they were on sale for $1,400 but hesitated too long and now they're back up near $2k.
