Totally understand the hesitation given the other comparable drops but I will say the last time it dropped to $40 I pulled the trigger and I have 0 regrets the kids love it and I enjoy playing it with them it's an awesome game and worth every penny at $40.

I have a 4 year old - do you know the difference between this game and Mario Party Superstars?

This is a traditional Mario game whereas Mario Party is basically a boardgame in which you compete in a bunch of mini games

Mario party games are more of an electronic board game style game where multiple players take turns playing mini games while traversing the game board. Mario 3D land is a 3 dimensional platforming game with jumping and running and exploring- a modern take on the classic Mario games. I think a 4 year old would enjoy either, but would recommend Mario 3D land for just one person playing and Mario party for when you and the family can play together with them.

I bought this for $50 in January as something my wife and I could pick up for any amount of time while our toddler sleeps (or doesn't). Worth every dollar. It's a very easy pair of games to pick up and put down at will.

I seriously do not see that happening. It's a 1st party Nintendo game remaster with added content that by all reports is incredible. Sadly, the days of Nintendo Selects are far behind us. We likely will never see $20 or even $10 first party Nintendo games again. But I applaud your patience. It's not like this won't hit $40 again because it definitely will and if you aren't in a hurry to play the expansion and/or have a major backlog there's no rush.

This game was worth full price when it launched. It's as good as "3D" Mario can get and tries new things. The Bowser's Fury expansion uses the Odyssey engine and it's rumored to be a testing ground for the next, likely open world, 3D Mario game.

It is ridiculous that someone keeps down voting every comment praising this game and stating they believe it's worth it at this price.

I bought. Thanks! My kids really wanted this for Christmas and this is $20 below retail, which is where it often is priced.

Thanks!
