FYI, I got 12% cash back as well through a certain site which was another $20.

Update: Ignore, this cash back worked on the 23rd, but they changed the categories on the 24th.

Snagged this last night along with the HW-Q700B, $430 for both with tax and shipping to CA. Samsung is always a bit slow to process and ship, but thought this was the best deal for PS5 setup in the loft.
I have a 1tb 980pro in our other PS5 and it has been very consistent with zero issues so I have confidence this will do just as well if not better based on reviews.

I bought the version with the heatsink thinking I could easily remove the heatsink, but it has a sticker saying it will void the warranty if removed. It won't fit in my external SSD enclosure with the heatsink.

Thanks OP. I forgot I had $45 in Samsung cash, plus other CB mentioned above, plus 2% on my CC: 980 Pro 2TB w/o heatsink was $107 total. Nice!

I want to get one for my laptop but the model without heatsink says it must be installed with heatsink.
Does anyone know if I can use it without heatsink installed?

I may be wrong, but I think you would buy the non heatsink one and use the included heatsink from the laptop manufacturer that was designed for the laptop.

It was showing 161.99 for me on the Samsung product page, but in the cart it was still 179.99, while their support person was telling me to create id.me account to validate my work address, which he then had no idea how to actually validate, the SSD got out of stock and got simply removed from the cart. Worst experience ever with Samsung rep and store.
