you probably want a monitor with USB-C then it's one cable to hookup/charge a modern laptop.

Plus side for this:
This one has 160Hz resolution, Costco's has 100Hz.
This one has 1ms response, Costco's has 5ms response.
This one as AMD Freesync "Premium", Costco has AMD Freesync (regular).

Plus side for Costco:
Is one inch bigger, 35 for Costco versus 34 for Amazon.
Has tilt and height adjustable stand. Amazon's is tilt only.
Costco has "forever" return policy on Monitors. Amazon's return policy is until 01/31/2023.

So I'm thinking if you are using it for Gaming, then maybe the Amazon one is better. But for non-Gaming, then probably the Costco version is better.

There's an onslaught of monitor deals. I'm struggling to pick… VA? IPS? Curved?

I do coding as a consultant from home so wouldn't be for gaming, but never say never. This one seems good with 160 refresh rate and 1ms response. Anything I'm missing?

Usb-c monitors typically have ONLY usb-c ports, which might be a disadvantage if you want to connect a device with HDMI/DP port to them.

Bigger is not a plus side. Just like a 27" 2560x1440 (QHD 2K) monitor is the sweet spot and better than the 32" variant, because you'll have a better pixel density and the image is sharper (i.e., same resolution not being 'stretched' out to a 5" longer diagonal screen)

If you don't game or need high response times I'd consider opting for higher resolutions like 4k, seeing crisp text and high resolution videos is very satisfying

I have an older system with an i7-4770k and a GTX 1080 Ti. If I'm playing AAA games from the last 5 years, will there be a huge performance hit with an ultrawide QHD monitor like this versus a regular QHD monitor?

I got the Costco one for office use - not impressed at all. The text is not clear, brightness is dim. Awesome screen size estate.
So, if you'll be using it mainly for office - get the IPS: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Doesn't mention monitors so they are correct, return policy is forever (at Manager's discretion as always at Costco).
