What's everyone think of OEM filters vs AmazonBasics vs all the other random brands on Amazon? There are plenty of random brands on Amazon for cheap, but who knows if you can trust them to do any meaningful filtering

I can only speak for this item DA29-00003G
Very poor quality. Water entering has a ppm of between 20~50 (City water). Water coming out after filtration has a ppm of 80~120. How is this even possible.
As a general rule of thumb - stay away from AmazonBasic brand.Just a waste of money and more importantly a waste of your precious time.

No, whirlpools are stuck with $50+ branded or Chinese knockoff filters unfortunately.

Then the filter is likely polluting micro plastics and other contaminants from the manufacturing process into your water. Avoid like the plague

I recommend installing a reverse osmosis system and then running that into your refrigerator. Use an oem refrigerator filter but you don't really ever need to change it if you're using the reverse osmosis system. These refrigerator filters are just charcoal filters for taste anyway. They don't really do much for filtration

RO systems remove critical fluoride in the water. We pay with our long term oral/teeth health and lower life expectancy without the fluoride. We then need to substitute our regular cheap toothpastes with expensive high fluoride toothpaste like this one https://www.amazon.com/3M-Clinpro...B00K5HV1HO or even prescription strength.

Stay away from RO systems too unless you have a health concern, even then you may need to switch to higher Fl content toothpaste.

Tap water also contains drugs, hormones and antibiotics. Heavy metals like lead and other contaminants like micro plastics are also in tap water.

Use a fluoride toothpaste and a good electric toothbrush and you'll be fine

I bought the Home Depot equivalent to the LG LT500P. A two-pack cost me $62. But after reading the review on the ppm here, I will pass. My HD filters are in the green, my tap water is in the red. I need good filtered water.

There are other types on sale also. I've used the premium in the past. Works great, and crazy good price for the premium at $9.23 for a 1 pack of AMZN-00020B
