FWIW, a flash deal over the weekend from Microsoft Store had this monitor at $700, and the Odyssey Neo at $1150.

Time machines being still in the design phase, there is hope another retailer will mimic sometime during the holidays, but this is still solid if you missed out and want this one vs the Neo, and can take advantage of the EDU/MIL discount.

I don't think this is outlet price, but normal price instead. EDU/military discount ended up taking it down to $755 like you mentioned, though!

Was wondering if I should get it and at this price I'm definitely OK with the decision!

EDIT: PSA for all - This is showing up on the normal advertised link in the Samsung shop, no need for the app! You'll have to go to the cart page after you added the monitor for the price to show up (must have EDU/military discount as well). Thanks again OP for the find!

Damn this or the CRG9 which I already bought. The curvature on the G9 might be pretty rough. Right now the CRG9 fits me desk perfectly.

As a note the CRG9 works at 100hz in PBP mode.

The G9 works at 60hz in PBP and maybe some mods and custom settings to get it up to 120/144hz in PBP.

Hmmm… it might be worthwhile to just kept the CRG9 since I run almost exclusively in PBP mode.

NOTE:
This model's curvature is 1000R and not 1800R (as in the newer ones). This matters based on your usecase.

However, I have found from my acquaintances that 1000R suits some of them better than 1800 R.

The only set of folks who cringed on 1000R were the ones who used it for immersive gaming.
Good point

i didn't get checkout credit on a tablet purchase i made awhile back, spoke to customer service about it that i wanted the credit for accessories, which i did initially. they gave me the credit of $200 a few days later through email, the credit is for anything on the website. i got cheap accessories on amazon and used the credit for this purchase here.

Agree, but only if you are sitting close. My neo g9 will be about 30 inches from my face, the 1000R curve is a must.
Exactly, the closer you are, the more curve you want. I got 3000R monitors from work and they might as well be flat.

Tempted to jump in but after reading reviews I see many people had hardware issues with the monitor. Anyone knows how good is Samsung Warranty and Refund/Replacement policies? Are they good?
That's my concern too after reading reviews on Amazon. Too many broken monitors after some time (6 months to a 2 years)

I got the CRG9 a week ago at $717 after tax (local in town), then pulled the trigger on this for $787 after tax (shipped to home outside city, less tax). For $70 more I assumed I was getting a better deal and it was a no brainer but now I'm confused. Worried the sdr brightness isn't going to be as enjoyable, the CRG9 is def bright enough in sdr and I don't game in hdr very much if hardly ever. Anyone know if the G9 lack of brightness on SDR is exaggerated? From what I understand it's ~600 vs ~400 nits. I don't really care about the other variables like curve, frame rate, response, ect. ...$70 more to downgrade my brightness? Seems odd and I wonder if anyone knows what's the trade off.

For work from home, go with the CRG9. The G9 is better for gaming, but doesn't really add anything for productivity work. I don't think the local dimming is worse, but it's not better either - both kind of suck at local dimming and black levels. The newer Neo G9 actually has good local dimming and black levels, but it's a lot more.

Though, honestly, I'd stick with three separate monitors for work - I find being able to quickly maximize windows to fill a screen, or snap them to the left and right of a screen, very useful. On the CRG9/G9 the maximizing fills the whole monitor, which is rarely ideal, and snapping is limited to the left half and right half. I find easily being able to throw 3-6 applications up at once without having to drag and resize much more useful.

I think the CRG9/G9/Neo G9 shine as gaming monitors, where the Neo G9 > G9 > CRG9.
Please install Windows Powertoys (straight from microsoft) if on Windows. Or Tiling assistant (linux). You can have as many layout as you want and just have to shift + drag to snap a windows instantly. You can have 3 equal parts, 1 big center and 2 small sides, etc...

Bought CrG9 for $662. Retail Me Not advertising 12% CB ($50 back). I didn't use 5% referral coupon since mine is not new account but if someone wants it, let me know. Used BofA cash rewards for 3% CB! Can anyone think of sweetening this further?!

G9 vs CRG9 - for work and productivity with zero gaming! Excited about PBP and driving a Mac and Windows at same time! G9 is $80 more probably for games it can matter!

Repped!

I had two of these.

Both coming with horrible yellow hue line every 1 cm (the QLED lines)

Don't buy, seriously, I don't think they have fixed the quality issue

Looks like if you order through PayPal you can get addtl 4% off by activating the discount in offers. Not 100% sure if that stacks with PayPal credit card 2% off but I think it does.

Those worries have been eliminated since launch. Any complaints now are from general, random faults as nothing is perfect.
