But 256GB SSD vs 512GB, HP vs Lenovo (my wife's HP was a piece of junk, but admittedly that's only one data point - but I've owned/purchased several Lenovos for myself and family and never had any issues). Also, the CPU in the Lenovo is better: https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-com...-i3-1125g4 ...so it's a matter of deciding if the brand, extra 256GB storage, and better CPU are worth another $100.

Isn't this a touch screen and the staples one is not ? That's a major difference apart from the CPU.

Is 8GB RAM enough? I have an ideapad Flex 5 w/16GB w/11th Gen i7 (Running Win 10 Pro) but it's suffering from the stupid left hinge defect so I'm going to have to send it in for warranty repairs and need a capable backup while it's gone (just using internet/cloud, no onboard software other than FireFox etc).

Any idea how OP deal would compare?

I don't think so. 1 TB HDD, backlit keyboard and i5 are extra, but you may get better deal on cyber monday.
