Chain Reaction Cycles is offering the 30.9mm & 31.6mm diameter 100mm travel bicycle dropper posts @ 60% off. These kits come with levers and cable and are for internally routed frames. Other travels are on sale too, but for lesser discounts. They aren't the highest calibre posts, but are well reviewed. And, even though their levers are pretty flimsy, at $66 it's pretty tough to beat if the 100mm travel suits your needs.

27.5 Maxxis Minion DHF, Aggressor, or High Roller II (less than $30)
Vittoria Rubino Pro or Zaffiro road tires ($11-$15)
Race Face Sniper lock-on grips ($10)
Tubes ($3 ea)
I feel like you would need to check maximum insertion since many 20" frames have very short seat tubes. The other challenge couls be thumb strength to activate the lever.
Instead of coming in from a place of ignorance and suggesting others educate themselves, maybe take your own advice and go to Youtube for an education.

These offer several advantages.

With a seat in optimum pedal position, most people cannot put there feet on the ground to stand up. Shorter people on the taller size of their frame range will be on their tiptoes at best. They may even do the funny hop thing where they almost fall over. A dropper post let's them come to an intersection and drop down to feet stable on the ground.

On a long ride sometimes it feels good to get in a different position. It good for the back, and even in a sub-optimal pedaling position it gives your legs a break by using some different muscle fibers for a while.

Then there's the part they were invented for. On a mountain bike going down a steep decline, you feel like you can be thrown over the handlebars (because you can). The dropper lets you lower your center of gravity, and it gets the seat out of the way, so you can put your weight better over the rear wheel. The beauty of these posts is that with a press of the button, the seat returns to the perfect pedaling height.

Anyone know how this would be for a 20" kids bike. He only weighs about 45lbs so have been looking at the KS Lev Si 75mm, but this brand x is a lot cheaper. Would the 100mm be too long?

Make sure your kids bike seatpost isn't 27.2mm

I have an ebikes (Trek powerfly 4) with 31.6mm seat post but I would like to change to another one with 30.6mm in the future.

Should I buy the 27.2mm with external cable (easier to install) and the adapter for 27.2mm to 31.6mm adapter? then, I would buy another adapter when I upgrade to another bike with 30.6mm or other? any issue to use the adapter especially with external cable?

I went with the 100mm. I'm also 6ft but shortish legs The 125 and 150mm are not as good of a deal. For my inseam, 100mm should work great

150 for sure, also make sure your bike fits it.. full suspensions sometimes have linkage that blocks it.

Probably 150 but you need to measure your seat tube and do the math. Oneup has a good calculator/explanation. If you have a something blocking the seat tube a couple inches down the 150 could stick out far even in the lowest position. I have one bike with a 170 and another with a 125

Are these hard to install yourself? And how do I make sure this fits my Giant? I've been wanting one but never seriously looked because they were too expensive.
