for the steelseries enthusiasts, what's the difference between arctis 9 vs arctis 7P/X+? the reason why i ask is because the 7P+ is 119.99 on official website.

Arctis 9 has Simultaneous Bluetooth & still uses Micro USB to charge
Arctis 7p/x+ have brand colors (blue ps / green xbox) for headband, no BT, & uses USB-C to charge
Ideally I want the Nova 7 (newest rebrand of the Arctis series) which has simultaneous BT & USB-C to charge, but so far no sales on it.
Tempted just to buy this instead, though there are lots of reviews saying the Arctis 9's earcup hinges are cheap plastic & will break.

thanks for the explanation.
The Nova 7 is on sale (albeit very minor sale) for 152.99 on the official website. I'm debating between Nova 7, 7+, and now since this is posted, the 9 series.

Yeah I saw that, but if something is wrong, I'd have to pay shipping back to steelseries. I've been hoping retailers will price match, but so far no one has.
I'm in the same boat between those 3 models for the past year. I have the original Arctis 7 (from 2016?) with the weird oval shaped headband (instead of circular) & those hinges haven't failed yet. I've been afraid to upgrade to the newer Arctis 7 models since everyone always complains about it.

Damn mine from 2015 or 2016 are still kicking as well. I love and standby arctis because they're so comfortable. It's a shame quality and build has gone down. I've been constantly eying a second pair for my console or to send my old one to my console.

I know right! That first generation Arctis 7 was built to last! I haven't used it in a year & it was still green when I turned it on recently, I didn't even have to charge it. No problem with the hinges either. It's still going strong after several years now. Only ever problem was the software/firmware updates, but I haven't updated it in forever & I don't have their software installed on my current PC & "as is" it still works great.
Yeah it's an absolute shame the build quality went down with the newer models.

Both are on par when it comes to quality and compatibility with console and PC.
