I have been using them for 3 years without any problems. I eventually got into "home assistant" open source software, running it on a raspi, and controlling all switches locally.

Yes, I've installed these on 1-4 gang outlet boxes. The only tricky part can be getting all the wires to fit in the box when you're done. These switches are a bit deeper than normal ones. Otherwise, it's as easy as installing a normal light switch with the exception of the neutral wire.

As another commenter said, you can control these locally in home assistant (maybe other platforms as well). Tplink has been stellar for me.

They're slightly tighter fit into the electrical boxes compared to other smart switches.

Additionally, it's not a rocker style, it's just a button but a rocker shape. Not the prettiest esthetic.

Overall I'm very happy with the 6 that I have. They are extremely affordable and work as good as any other switch/dimmer

A couple of years back, I was on the kasa bandwagon and installed it all over my house. Even recommended them to family and friends.

For some strange reason, at random, they lose connectivity with Alexa. Switches, smart plugs, while controllable from kasa app worked but Alexa said it couldn't find. Some of my other friends and family told me the same. again, it is at random. Not sure if anyone else who owns kasa stuff and have it integrated with amazon and experienced similarly.

I'm into home automation and integration so this is important to me enough that I have very gradually started to move away and go strictly with zwave protocol. I've had zero issues with Zwave switches/plugs and Alexa.

This is just own (and friends/family) scenario. If you don't use any voice assisted services, namely Alexa and only use kasa app, this shouldn't be an issue for you.

I tried a few feit smart bulbs years ago and I currently use about 15 Kasa switches, bulbs, and plugs.
Kasa is way above Feit in my opinion. It's not perfect but I've been happy with it.

I have some seng-led and power cycle means all the lights in my house turn on, and they don't work without internet.

They can be locally controlled from the app without internet access but you still need a wifi connection.
The Bulbs will turn on with a power cycle, that's by design since they can be controlled that way from the switch. You can set a default mode for power on. I have mine set to 1% so they don't turn on in the middle of the night with a power outage.
The switches and plugs do not turn on with a power cycle.

I have been using Kasa switches for years and most of the time with Alexa voice commands. Never have the problem you mentioned. I, however, encountered similar problem with the blink doorbell. I was able to communicate with Blink app just fine but Alexa was unable to find the device. This is because I changed the name of the doorbell after setting up the Alexa skill. For some reason, Alexa failed to update the name. The solution was to unlink the Blink skill and relink.

I have an older home with different generations of switch boxes in it - the original switch boxes are steel and fairly small - these smart switches are fairly large and may be difficult if not impossible to install in older steel multi-gang boxes.

A more modern addition to my house, as well as a renovated kitchen have the standard blue Carlon brand plastic boxes; those boxes are larger capacity and generally don't have any issue accepting one of these larger smart switches.

I am a fan of the Wago 221 Lever Nuts over standard twist-on style wire nuts when installing smart devices - the Wagos are smaller and help with volume issues inside the box.

Also, keep in mind that all of TP-Link's smart switches require a neutral wire to work - in older homes, there's a chance that switches are "switch legs", with no neutral present in the switch box. If your multi-gang box has a number of white wires wire nutted together, you should be good to go, If all the white wires are only connected to switch terminals, you're OOL.

I'd rather get kasa. I bought the feit from Costco and returned it the same day. It was not Google-fy supported when I bought it. I have a mixture of meross and kasa. When my meross dies I'll switch to kasa. Just because of the simplicity of setup compared to meross.

urg 2.4 wireless required, not sure if worth the (tiny tiny) performance loss if you don't already have that enabled on your router.

I did the same by install kasa on pretty much all of the house and used Feit for the 3-ways since Kasa didn't have the 3 ways dimmer back then. Once a while, my router reboot and cause a massive reconnect. It's like a wifi storm and made the router almost unusable for the 2.4 GHZ. My router is Netgear pro. Have you experience the same 2.4 Ghz router storm? What's your router to handle this massives 2.4 Ghz IOT? My router can barely keep up at 80s devices.
