If the internet is out it will work as regular switches. They will have a blinking red wifi sign to show you the internet is down, but they will work normally. If I'm not wrong, they will keep the present state when the power cycle, or maybe off, I had some power outages and didn't have to walk around the house turning them off, but I'm not sure if the lights that was on remained on. But it will not wake you up in the middle of the night in case of outage.
Tp-Link is staying in business as far as I've read. Matter compliant devices should come out by the end of the year. I don't think they've announced if they're going to release their new products under Kasa or Tapo branding.
Of course you're getting down voted, Idiocracy here we come. You make a cogent argument but all the cretins hear are the noises the adults make in Charlie Brown. What a world.
Yeah it's funny how defensive/subjective people can be when their smart home choices aren't the same as other people's choices. I personally pick what's best/cheapest to get the job done and have a variety of different smart home devices using different connectivity. I glean a lot of knowledge from these threads but realize there's a lot of noise to wade through.
Can someone comment if these are "momentary" or "hard" switches? For example, if they are turned "off" manually can they still be turned on by Alexa? I couldn't figure it out from the description.

Yes, you can turn them on/off manually and revert that action with alexa or the Kasa app. I installed the 3 way switch in a hallway and it works like a charm.
I cancelled my order from amazon for the hs300 6 outlet power strip when I just found it on dell for the same price but with 15% cash back from the R cash back site that can't be mentioned here, comes out to $36.50 instead of 42.99.

The single switches worked great when installed in my new basement. Wanted to keep the kids from leaving them on constantly, requiring a trip down the stairs every night to shut them off. However, the 3 way kit had significant problems. Bought twice and they simply do not turn on and operate the way they are supposed to. Internet research revealed this is a common issue and they don't seem to have a fix in place. I would avoid these if you need a 3 way switch setup to share 2 switches for one set of lights. I ended up spending more to replace all the switches to keep them consistent due to that issue. And now I'm past my return window on all the others.

I have a number of the 3 way switches installed and they work as expected. Just want to mention in case you are not aware that you only need one 3 way smart switch. No need to replace both of the manual switches.
Love these for Christmas lights/decorations but, for the other 11 months of the year, I can't find many things in the house that come on as soon as you plug them in.

Beware, Kasa released an update to their Android app in November that completely broke all functionality for a large number of users and they still haven't fixed it. I haven't been able to do anything to 95% of my Kasa devices via the app for at least a few weeks, and there's no word on any fix coming. I'm not the only one having this problem by a long shot.
Anyone know how to return a dimmer switch to factory defaults as it sits on the wall? I've tried holding the switch down, etc and it's still not going back to blinking green/orange.

There's a small Reset button at the bottom of the switch - have you tried that? There's actually 2 buttons there - the left is Reset and the Right is Restart. I think you need to hold it down for a few seconds.

I have some seng-led and power cycle means all the lights in my house turn on, and they don't work without internet.
