I picked this up to replace my i7. I also picked up the BF Deal on Crucial 64gb RAM on Amazon to max this out.

My i7 is not very quiet but I did get a 5 fan laptop stand and it keeps the machine quiet by keeping it constantly cool. I use this in my recording studio and it doesn't pick up the background noise.

IDK, it hasn't shipped yet. I use external monitors for my laptop and keep the lid shut while I use the machine. The MSI Raider I had from before was a 2070, so I'm guessing this 3060 is going to be a better upgrade. I use my machines more for audio than video, but I do occasionally process video, which the i9 w/64gb RAM should dramatically reduce the wait time on.

I saw this model in the store yesterday. Not sure if it was running properly but the fan was running loud even when the machine was in idle. It just happened to be next to the Lenovo Legion and feel the Legion has much better build quality and has a brighter/clearer screen.

MSI is a solid brand but I'd caution against a 1080p 17'' monitor. Especially since there are so many 16:10 laptop monitors available now. 16:9 feels old, limited and IMHO, affects resell value.

Since you are familiar with audio, how is the DAC on this laptop? Does it have enough juice to run quality headphones?

The GE76 is the best laptop on the market however for some reason in this version they took a step back with the wifi card as it is only 6 and not 6E
