They're all basically boss clones (well except the tube overdrive which is a tube screamer). They sound great the only issue is they're made out of plastic. If you ever wanted to try some of these effects but didn't want to spend the cash this is a cheap point of entry.

If you are comfortable soldering a little, you can take these apart and sheild inside the plastic casing with guitar shielding tape. then solder a small wire from ground to the tape. it did wonders for reducing the noise from my Behringer Compressor pedal. Just a thought.

How do these compare to their big-name equivalents (eg Boss?)

I bought their tube amp modeler pedal on sale a while ago, and it sounds fantastic. About the only way to get a high gain tweed tone. It does the early marshall/Plexi tones well too. Good pedals, don't let the plastic/price fool you.

Behringer aren't taken seriously by professionals. They pack a lot of value IF you like the sound. They are a massive company, not a hole in a wall.

The bottom line for me is I spend a lot of time listening to different boxes of all brands (via youtube). There's some cheap boxes I like and expensive boxes I don't. I don't have a problem with Behringer circuitry quality, Behringer boxes i like are always close to what I want but not quite. I'd rather buy a box that 'clicks' with me, and it varies person to person and is very subjective. If Behringer box clicks with you it's the best value in the world.

barely related: Behringer is doing an awesome job bringing back 70s-80s vintage synths at super low price. Check out deepmind12, pro-1, td-3, so on.

got this td-3 for $90 last BF

This guy has a great ear (demoing td-3)

tl;dr Behringer is a massive company, not a fly-by-night. They make many highly affordable products. Yet many do not jive with pro's ears when paying double+ isn't an issue.

Edit: markowalski is right about the noise. I was giving behringer too much credit for their guitar boxes. markowalki's comment snapped me out of denial. Bottom line is the are too noisy. There amazing performance/cost ratio is impressive, but bottom line is they just arent good enough. They can be fun but I never plug them in again after a few times.

Love the synths though. Their performance/cost ratio is super, and though far from the best synths are worthwhile and a valuable investment of time.

They also tend to add a lot of hum to your board. I'd rather pay more for a clean signal, but some people may not mind.

I stay away from most Behringer pedals because they are noisy af (I have many, including this SF300).

Their customer support is also non-existent so you'll have to eat the loss most of the time.

I used to work for a Behringer/everyothercompanytheyown dealer and they are a nightmare to deal with. They will happily take your purchase order but that's about it.

Behringer pedals are a good introduction to the world of pedals. They are not recommended for professional use, but for bedroom jammers they are good for playing around with different sounds.

Behringer makes respectable clones. I use them to try out effects I don't typically use. The EQ is good and the Tube Screamer is good. I own more Tube Screamer variations than any sane human should own so I consider myself a good judge. Their Sans Amp clones are decent too.
