Why so expensive for a 3050? It can't even go 165FPS unless it's games like CS:GO or something

It's expensive because you can bring this to work and be taken seriously.

There is no may be, it is not a gaming laptop. Not sure why people still jumps to conclusion, like the 1st guy, that every laptop with a dedicated GPU, is a gaming laptop, espcially when these kind of high performance product oriented laptops exist for years now. Dell XPS lineup is here for more than 5 years and same kind of products are available ftom other brands for years as well. Yes, you will see these comments in every laptop thread with a dedicated GPU.

Windows 11 Pro

16" 2560x1600 165Hz 500-nits HDR400 IPS, Dolby Vision, 100% sRGB - can be used outdoors

Ryzen 7 6800HS 8C/16T 3.2 GHz (4.7 GHz Boost, 20MB Cache) - for resource intensive apps

Nvidia RTX 3050 4GB GDDR6 Graphics, Advanced Optimus - for graphics work

1080p IR Camera with Windows Hello - better than most crappy 720p cams

75 WHr Battery - hopefully can go the full business day at medium brightness

I bought the one from this post (Slim 7 $918 before tax) and Yoga 7i (16" Intel) [lenovo.com] ($860 before tax). I am having dilemma which one to keep. I use it for coding, browsing, etc, no gaming. Which one would you keep?

Keep the slim 7—better screen refresh rate, processor, and an actual graphics card considerably above the yoga's integrated graphics. I would only consider yoga if the convertible function wins you over and you will use it.

The weight at 4.5 lbs seems pretty high for my portable needs but then when I want a decent display it seems that the weight goes up. Also no USB 4.

Any recommendations on a laptop with similar power that could be closer to 3 lbs? Don't need touchscreen but would like USB 4.0.
