Not a commentary on anything else regarding Sharp or this TV in particular, but it's incredibly deceptive to use the term "Full Array" if the TV doesn't have local dimming. The proper term for constant-brightness LED backlighting spread throughout the panel is "Direct Lit". That's what everyone else in the industry has standardized on. This is compared to "Edge Lit" for TVs that have LEDs only on the edges.

The term "Full Array", on the other hand is standard shorthand for a TV with local dimming. Again, this is standard in the industry. For Sharp to use the term to refer to what is actually Direct Lit (while I'm sure justifying it by saying "well we didn't use the term 'local dimming' anywhere) is intended to confuse customers into thinking they are getting a feature they are not getting.

So, Best Buy's web site is in fact correct in stating that this TV, like almost every other one in its class, is Direct Lit. Any reference to "Full Array" is wrong and misleading.
No, Sharp retrieved the license from Hisense 2 years ago. This is a TV designed by Sharp using a Sharp panel and manufactured by Sharp's strategic investor, Foxconn, in Mexico. How do I know? I work for Sharp.
No risk. It's just $300. Bought a 65 inch Hisense at best buy two years ago for $250 and still work perfect.

Pretty sure this is made by Hisense. Hisense acquired the North American manufacturing assets of Japan-based Sharp and secured brand name rights for the U.S. market

From what I've read, this is actually a bona fide Sharp television. Apparently they bought the naming rights back from Hisense and have just started making a line of Roku TVs.

Anyone actually have this set? Wondering if it's a VA or an IPS/ADS panel.

Actually, it isn't. If this is something you really want, then I'd buy it now an secure my purchase.

If a better deal comes out on "cyber Monday" (total BS to me) then cancel this one and buy the better deal one. Not to mention, if you buy this now you can't get it for a few days at the earliest anyways.

Quantities maybe be limited and the deal on this tv is limited. It's like 15 hours left.

It is not made by Hisense. After being acquired by Foxconn, Sharp bought the rights to make Sharp TV's back from Hisense about 3 years ago.

I have a 65" sharp Roku tv from 2019 (Walmart) and a 50" sharp Roku tv from 2017 (best buy). They are both still working great.

These Sharps from 3+ years ago were made by Hisense. The Sharp TV in this thread is made by Foxconn/Sharp
