Having had both - the second gen ones have waaaaay better battery life (to be fair, this is comparing to the first gen after a year of use), the bass is way better (still not great but def better), the transparency mode is way better, and the case has a speaker for finding it. Sometimes I actually prefer wearing these over wearing over-ear headphones for listening to music because it feels less restrictive.
If you use these daily as much as I do, definitely worth getting the second gen.
