I apologize for saying it's "effing" slow when it's not bad for $50. i just use it as a gaming drive. my WD SN 770 Gen4 NVME gets:

The Solidigm P41 Plus from Newegg, $110 for 2TB/$60 for 1TB. Even though "but it's QLC!!!" it has much faster cache speeds than this, and even the slower direct write speeds that people complain about most with QLC (and that most users will never see) are faster. Especially on the 2TB, though it's still "slow" compared to high end drives.
If you live near a Microcenter they might have the Inland 2TB for $80. That's THE best value, but most people don't have that option, and they are probably about gone from all the Microcenters at this point anyway.
The Kingston NV2 is also a pretty good step-up value drive at current prices with TLC, though they could swap the flash for worse performing QLC at any point. And then the Solidigm is cheaper and probably better in a QLC vs QLC matchup.

Thanks, I grabbed this as well.
I trust WD more than Teamgroup and the upgrade from 1,800 to 3,000+ seems worth the price difference.
~0.07/GB is still a good ratio imo.

Point for point, I went through every single exact consideration, and bought a 2TB P41 Plus for about $15 more than the Black Friday price.
Still happy w/ the choice; It replaced 2 Samsung PM963 960GB 'server' NVME drives.
This MP33 1TB caught my eye, as I'm looking for a 'slow, cheap' SSD for using w/ Clover Bootloader on a bootable USB key for Retro PC Builds (usually PCIe gen2.0 or earlier).

Drive speeds just aren't the bottleneck for most operations.
This drive is a very good value
