I would never buy from 3rd party sellers
It's Amazon you can easily return if you aren't satisfied without any issues. You're missing out imo

Does the app work with Samsung tablets? I don't have a Samsung phone, just a Samsung tablet.
Yes, it's the smartthings app.

Does samsung force samsung users to automatically located lost tags? I previously had tiles and that was based on people who had the tile app.

Do third party sellers that are NOT prime sellers try the ""restocking fee" tactic? I typically only purchase from prime sellers or sellers that do not mention "partial refunds".

If you choose defective doesn't work or inaccurate from website. Then you are not charged a restocking fee

Also this is an FBA (for sale by Amazon) not FBM (for sale by merchant) so you are covered either way.

Some do but as long as you pick the right reason for a return, they can't do much but take it back for free.

It's similar but different. You have to have Bluetooth on so it can find. I think you can turn off some location services and it also won't report it but most people are using the find my phone stuff.

I take it this seller, who is selling it at $59.99 with 5% discount is a FBM?

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

This is not shipped or sold by Amazon and also nowhere it says it has "free returns". If you go to more options for $62.7 you have an option shipped by Amazon although sold by a different seller albeit with better ratings- 97% positive.

The only issue I've had with these is when they are close to dying, I've never seen it go into the low battery phase. It just stops tracking no notification or anything. Instead, it shows the last location of when it was on as if that's its current location.
I get notifications from my dying Smart Tags all the time.

It's $70 if you prefer buying direct from Samsung:

you should get smart tag+ , it use ultra wideband from other samsung phone to locate it. I think smart tag only rely on your phone Bluetooth. it won't work well in winter tho , the cold weather kills the battery fast... I have tried it
This is inaccurate. All Samsung SmartTags report location through other Samsung phones. The primary advantage of the SmartTag+ is the ability to narrow down location the location more precisely via Augmented Reality when you are in fairly close range.

For tracking luggage and similar items, the regular SmartTags are more than sufficient.

They use Bluetooth not GPS, so you'll only be able to track it if there are other Samsung devices with Bluetooth enabled nearby the device to provide the location.[/QUOTE]

Great post. Saved me a headache. Thanks.

Yeah. 62.70 is still a good deal for this and having it shipped from Amazon is much better than getting it from a third party.

I want to keep monitoring it. Price may drop even further.

I was waiting for a deal on the plus version but this is for the price of two of those. I'll probably bite even though the plus version has the precision location option.
Tbh I won't consider these over the + due to the much better tech on the latter.
