Correct me if I'm wrong. This Extreme Plus series no longer available on WD official website. Also keep in mind, for this Extreme Plus, max read speed is 200, max write speed is 90. For comparison, the current gen of Extreme: R190 W130; the newest gen of Extreme Pro: R200 W140 (best performance overall of all UHS I SD cards); last gen of Extreme: R160 W90. None of these could achieve max speed unless using them on some specific devices with special card readers.

Write speeds on these models are pretty bad compared to what they are selling now (up to 130MB/s) Not highly recommended to get it from Best Buy if you need that write speed

Hm. Just got the $117 SanDisk 1TB Extreme from Amazon. Wonder if it would be better to return that one and nab this one?

So… what, this is an older Extreme Plus that's being phased out?

And if the other ones can't reach max speed, does that mean it doesn't matter whether we get an older or a newer one?

I guess

From the picture of the item it says 200mb/s read and 140mb/s write. Worth the risk to see if we get the right version?

There are other use cases for these cards, like the Steam Deck

These things get big/affordable right after manufacturers remove the slots from all the phones.

Where does it say that? The specs on Best Buy say:

Up to 200MB/sec. read speed, up to 90MB/sec. write speed

On Best Buy's website there are 5 product pictures. The last one is the packaging and it says 200/read and 140/write
