Gotham like Batman? Is this supposed to be some clever way of getting around copyright laws or something?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion] Just noting that every review was collected as part of a promotion, so take that into consideration when judging the actual rating. Also a number of reviews say "granite steel" - possible name change to Gotham?

I bought the Gotham Steel Pasta pot when Walmart had it for $20 on Black Friday 2017....it quickly became our everyday cooking pot -- use it to brown meat, boil pretty much everything! Seriously, favorite. Barely looks used. Even stands up to the times our son used the GRILL BRUSH to clean it, ughhh!
But,I just purchased several more from Amazon last month when they were on sale because in my experience, these are like "Oprah's list of Favorite Things," that you seriously think everyone should have and will love.....annnnnd they are NOT EVEN CLOSE to being the same pot. Wrong color, plastic handles (so no way they're holding up to oven usage), and smaller even though they claim to be same number of quarts. The unfortunate part for me was I waited to open the box so I didn't see this until about an hour before I was leaving the house with the plan to give one away as a gift. Thankfully the return window is still open and I've already started the return process.

All of that to say, I wouldn't be expecting much with this set.

Also keep in mind that 9 of the 20 pieces are lids and spoons!

Looking to get a deal on a cookware set. Any brand in particular that's good and doesn't hurt the pocket?

Had the 12" pan for a few months. Coating wears off and it becomes a total pain to clean. Would not recommend.

Unless they changed things in the past few years, these would consistently stick after a couple of uses. No matter which retailer, Amazon, Walmart, Gotham consistently bad.

Only stick with copper chef which has never failed me, even when buying sets or individual pieces from retailers.

Honestly I like TFal but can't speak of their warranty.

I am 100% with you on this. We got the pasta pot and absolutely loved it. It was super durable. Then we upgraded to induction range and couldn't use it anymore. I looked into the Gotham line at that time and it's nowhere near the quality of the trusty pasta pot. Disappointing.
