Yep, and the suggested mods (required if you talk to coffee turbo nerds (I am totally stealing that BTW! LOL) will put the price well above this.

For anyone that wants to be able to fix their own machines when they inevitably die, you may want to steer clear of Breville. They are notoriously built for "one use" only, meaning they have proprietary screws and parts and are built in such a way as to intentionally keep you out and keep you from replacing what is probably a very inexpensive part.

As someone who has taken apart two different, VERY complex superautos, and rebuilt, I definitely frown on this practice. It's wasteful for one, and anti-consumer for another. Gaggias and their ilk are great IMO not because they produce any better shots than this would, but for that primary reason.

I would have to agree with this as I also own one. I only have one negative thing about it....inserting the portafilter. I need to hold the while machine tight at its place while inserting and turning the portafilter.
Do you also have this problem?

You're going to have this issue with every espresso machine out there that's this size…it's just physics.

One of the very few (and minor IMO) downsides of buying this compared with their larger machines with built in grinders.

I have one of these and it's great if you don't want to go full turbo nerd. I like drip and pour over coffee too so I only make like 4ish espresso drinks a week. If you really want to get into espresso I'd prolly get the gaggia pro (same price) or a rancilia silvia as they have commercial sized portafilters (54mm on this will limit you on some things you can get) and I believe both are more easily moddable.

I have the regular Bambino and have used it multiple times a day for months and it makes excellent espresso. The plus has the steam function making it alot easier. Highly recommend
