I've been on the fence and watching the price of this for several years now. @$189 I purchased quickly then thought I'd post.
Not sure why, within 5 minutes of posting, someone would TD. This is a high quality tool that's best-in-class, and cheaper than it's been in over a decade. For reference, It's $279 on special buy right now at Homedepot ($325 reg). [homedepot.com]
Edit: This front page deal posted 2 years ago has some discussion. It dropped to $199 for one day. Also happened 1 day in 2018. Historically these could be found for around $250-275.

I have a Makita belt sander at home, bought in the 90s. I needed it, couldn't find it, borrowed a friend's corded belt sander which was manufactured by another well respected brand. That thing dogged down under load. I resumed my search for mine, finally found it, and my Makita suffered no degradation under load. Love that thing.
