Probably the best large belt sander out there. Really powerful, and built like a tank.

Could someone please comment as to why I'm getting down voted to oblivion? Is this not a good deal for this tool? Is this not a good tool? Should I not have bothered posting it? Because from my research, this is a smokin deal for this tool. Someone please enlighten me, thanks.

Yep, I've borrowed one on occasion that's about 30 years old from a family member. Still works flawless and seems indestructible.

I've been on the fence and watching the price of this for several years now. @$189 I purchased quickly then thought I'd post.

Not sure why, within 5 minutes of posting, someone would TD. This is a high quality tool that's best-in-class, and cheaper than it's been in over a decade. For reference, It's $279 on special buy right now at Homedepot ($325 reg). [homedepot.com]

Edit: This front page deal posted 2 years ago has some discussion. It dropped to $199 for one day. Also happened 1 day in 2018. Historically these could be found for around $250-275.

It's probably people who had "Makita" or some other simple word set for an alert. I like the deal, so thanks for posting it!

Great deal. After just using a very nice 30 year old craftsman one in its last leg. I picked this up. Thank you

I can tell you that you can crouch on this and take a trip around the shop on it. We had one when I did car audio in early 2000s and this thing is a beast.

Trolls.

I have a Makita belt sander at home, bought in the 90s. I needed it, couldn't find it, borrowed a friend's corded belt sander which was manufactured by another well respected brand. That thing dogged down under load. I resumed my search for mine, finally found it, and my Makita suffered no degradation under load. Love that thing.

Makita makes a great sander, and this is a good price. I have a 9924DB that's at least 10 years old now, with some heavy use, and it still works just as it should

Have this. Love this. I can also confirm the original price of $250, as that is what I paid in 2019 on Amazon.

As others have stated, this thing is a tank/workhorse/beast!!

No clue why people downvoted it, but I upvoted and repped. Great deal. I'd jump on it if I hadn't just bought a Ridgid 18v earlier this season. I'm still thinking of picking it up.
