edit: Vitamix has updated their website by adding "fits all full size machines" Works perfectly with my 7500. The wider square base is also more stable. It grips the base firmly preventing the jumping around I have with the 64 oz on my 7500. Ebay has a wet-dry Gorilla Blade made in Japan to fit this container. 4 of the 6 sharp blades are serrated. Weighs 30 g more. My research shows that both the wet and dry version of this 48 container are identical with blade width of 2.8" compared to the 4" blade in the standard wide low 64 non-Ascent container. C.S. informed me that the classic rubber lid fits the 48.

Works on the non-self detect machines according to Joy of Blending even if Vitamix says otherwise.

See the QVC video on youtube using this 48 container on a 7500 to make fresh whole wheat flour from wheat berries followed by adding a bit of liquid to knead dough for bread and pizza. Also great for making corn meal and corn flower from popping corn kernels. $86 is slick.
