Actually the Amazon [amazon.com] one DCD708C2 is ATOMIC Brushless

According to DEWALT website DCD708C2 is ATOMIC 20V MAX* Brushless Compact 1/2 in. Drill/Driver Kit

For anyone else particularly interested in the atomic lineup, I went with the DCD709 over this DCD708 because the 709 has the hammer feature and I already have plenty batteries. 709 is definitely more expensive - currently $90 on sale at Amazon for just the hammer drill.

Lol damn well lets see if my amazon order cancels or not. Amazon with 5% CB is a better deal.

I currently have an ikea $20 drill, which doesn't do any good job. I want to replace it. Shall I buy this deal or the drill and driver combo that's live on Home Depot for $150? I tried to google if I need both for small home projects and looks like just the impact driver will work, but not sure if I can get a drill alone for $50 in future after realising it's a must.

Drills and drivers serve different purposes. Long story short, drills will hit their torque resistance and stop, drivers will stop then ratchet back and drive again.
You could probably get away with just one, but the sets are pretty cheap and at the very least having 2 tools helps with switching back and forth between tasks (like drilling pilot holes for screws)

I got this deal a week ago. I matched it with the gift-card promotion. So it was $100 for a $120 gift-card, Meaning I walked out with $20 additional dollars to spend.

You need both. Two tools, two different applications, but you are bound to screw something up using the wrong tool for the wrong application. I tried to be careful with an impact driver before I got my drill and end up stripping several screws and had to buy an extractor kit to fix everything.

It's there, but for whatever reason it doesn't pull up as a top hit even though it is probably the most purchased dewalt kit they have.

I bought this several weeks ago but took it back once they had the $150 deal for the 2 tool kit plus the free 3rd tool.

Actually, nevermind.
the link above is for the non-atomic drill. Looks like they removed the atomic version from their website.

It depends on what you're looking for. If all you want is something to drill and drive screws, this is an excellent $100 Ridgid set for that purpose.

There's also a Ryobi set for that price. The deal doesn't seem as good, but I'd take the Ryobi first for a reason, although I'd look for a bigger set for my money. I like some Ryobi because they always have deals, and I can use my DeWalt batteries with them using a cheap adapter. I just bought a 10" cordless sliding saw for $161 last week.

Well I agree 100% to get 2 tools (and I've also screwed stuff up using the driver wrong) but since the deal here is for just the drill going with the 1 tool should eliminate that issue.
