did a few quick calculations for calorie per dollar. The $10 25lb costco flour bags are 11x cheaper per calorie than this. im guessing air tight sealed, desiccated flour will last just as long as these would.
Flour is ground. It doesn't last anywhere near that long…

yeah i thought of that, but then how does pasta last 25 years? maybe if you congeal and dry it into pasta it resists oxidation and lasts longer.

just some ideas for budget minded preppers.
You would definitely get a lot longer out of something like dried pasta.

Even if it's in the short term storage wise, it's way cheaper to make your own preps as you suggested. And as long as you're rotating you'll be fine.

How much water do you need stored to prepare 5400 servings?

Always wondered if people that buy these would consume at some near future (without an actual disaster happening) OR strictly keep them stored for doomsday...

Good question, most don't think about these will need a water source or stored water.

The eggs from the dormant, unhatched weevils will lay and make a meal out of that flour well before that shelf life. You'll be in for a surprise by the time you need to consume it.

Keep in mind Servings is NOT meals. This i believe will last a bit over a year for one person eating 2,000 calories per day.
